"Monument"al Weekend

My boss and his family went out of town this last weekend and my roommate and I took up residence in their home in Monument. We didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into as far as the weather goes, but we ended up experiencing freezing rain and snow.

It made the trees so beautiful and the house was so far out that it seemed like we were the only ones on the face of the planet. Oh, except their dog Tripper that made the house-sitting extravaganza possible. :)

We walked the trail behind their place and took Tripper with us for the ride.
